Form Filling 2 – Heritage  Fest  2012



A team of students of Kabwata Secondary School, Cairo Rd., Mulungushi, Lusaka, the capital of Zambia is taking part in ‘Heritage fest 2006’ organized by University of Troodos, Nicosia, Cyprus from 17^th September to 21^st September. All communication regarding the Heritage Fest would be  handled  by the Deputy Principal Mrs. Swaza Dirie, telephone number (278) 456 – 6874.

            The team would be headed by Mr.Wanga Kalimba, the senior history teacher in the school and Mwiza Wasingo would be the student leader. Actually there would be only 7 members in the team including the teacher but Mrs. Swaza Dirie decides to join the team as Zulu Swabezi is the only girl student in the team. 50% of their flight expenses would be borne by the school and the rest by the organizers so they need to send their amount as draft in favour of the Registrar, University of Troodos drawn on Cyprus National Bank. One way ticket from Lusaka to Nicosia would be US $ 250 each. Food and accommodation would be provided by the host and also their flight booking would be taken care of. They need to send the copies of their passport along with the registration form.


            Cultural exchange and internationalism is the main aim of the ‘Heritage Fest’ and participants would be taking part in various competitions during the Fest. In the team category Mwiza and two others would do a multimedia presentation on Zambia`s history and heritage and everyone would do Kwela dance which is a Zambian tribal dance. In the individual category Mwiza would take part in the History Quiz and Zulu Swabezi would display her portfolio of Zambia’s heritage (a collection of 100 beautiful snaps of Zambia). None in the team is artistic so they have to avoid the Poster Competition.
